Loving Mr. Daniels Blog Tour

I am excited to be a part of Brittainy C. Cherry's Blog Tour for
Loving Mr. Daniels
Brittainy's books are quickly taking up a big chunk of my favorites lists.  The Space in Between, and Our Totally, Ridiculous, Made-Up Christmas Relationship, both are skillfully done, enthralling, touching, have characters that grab on to your heartstrings and never let go. I fall in love with each of her leading men.  I always find something enviable and endearing about her leading ladies.

Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to review her newest release. I hope you all enjoy Ashlyn and Daniel as much as I did.

BOOK DESCRIPTION
To Whom it May Concern,

It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soulmates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soulmates.

When I arrived to Edgewood, Wisconsin I didn’t plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

When I started senior year at my new school, I wasn’t prepared to call him Mr. Daniels, but sometimes life happens at the wrong time for all the right reasons.

Our love story wasn’t only about the physical connection.

It was about family. It was about loss. It was about being alive. It was silly. It was painful. It was mourning. It was laughter.

It was ours.

And for those reasons alone, I would never apologize for loving Mr. Daniels.

-Ashlyn Jennings

In keeping with the spirit of Ashlyn and Daniel's love of Shakespeare, I thought I'd start my review off with a quote I felt was fitting:
"Such is my love, to thee I so belong,
That for thy right myself will bear all wrong."
~Shakespeare Sonnet 88

They were willing to bear the wrong, in order to keep their love.

When knowing in advance you are about to read a book with a student/teacher love angle to it, so many predictable story lines come to mind.  Forbidden Love...Taboo Love...Stolen glances...etc. etc.  Did this story have that? YES...but it was so much more than your average student teacher romance.  Brittainy C. Cherry is a beautiful story teller, able to pull at your heartstrings one moment, then have you laughing at her quirky sense of humor the next.

Ashlyn Jennings is a girl that suffers unbearable loss, only to be forced into a new environment with a father she barely knows, who comes equip with a whole new family she knew nothing about.

She meets and falls for a sweet, charming, beautiful musician, Daniel Daniels, who she later finds out is her new AP English teacher.  He is dealing with his own grief and loss.  Neither of them planned on love, but love found them all the same.

This book doesn't just explore the new found love of Ashlyn and Daniel. This book also delves into two different sides of sibling love.  My current favorite movie is Frozen, and Gabby and Ashlyn totally remind me of Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.  There is nothing like a tight sibling bond. I think one of my favorite parts of this book was being able to read Gabby's letters right along with Ashlyn. It made me feel connected to them both as if I was there giddy and excited on that emotional ride with Ashlyn.

The flip side of a tight sibling bond is estranged siblings.  Where Ashlyn and Gabby share a love that even death can't separate, Daniel and his brother Jace have such a sad back story that they have spent years not speaking to one another.  Ashlyn is dealing with loss in a literal sense, while Daniel deals with a loss by choice.

This is a book about family, love, loss, healing, and hope.  Ashlyn and Daniel were 2 heartbroken people who didn't realize how much they needed one another until they found each other, were forced apart only to find each other again.    I laughed, I cried, I cringed, I applauded, I was shocked, I was crushed, I was hopeful.  I ran through so many emotions while reading this book.  I can't tell you how you will feel after it reading it, but I can guarantee you, you will FEEL something.  Isn't that what we all love about reading books?  Finding an author that connects you to their story in some way, shape, or form.

I give Brittainy C. Cherry's Loving Mr. Daniel's 5 emotional stars.  I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I did.
